Help For Left Handed Golfers From Wilson

Help For Left Handed Golfers From Wilson
By Jim Kesel
If you are a southpaw you no longer have to search the country for left hand clubs and pay high prices to purchase them. Wilson makes left handed golf clubs to the standards that right hand golfers have enjoyed for years. Wilson and other golf equipment manufactures produce good quality clubs at reasonable prices that will fit any left handed golfer. In the past some left handed people were forced to play right or cross handed just to play the game.

The Wilson Fi5 series of left-handed irons is the solution to that problem. Designed especially for the lefty golfer the Fi5 series of clubs are equal to comparable any right handed clubs. These clubs are designed for outstanding golfers who want to achieve a good golf swing with irons. The Fi5 series clubs accomplishes this with a progressive weighting system, moving the clubs’ center of gravity higher in the club. These are forged left hand golf clubs with narrow top lines and sole widths that give you the feel you need to improve your golf game. My left handed playing partners think this is the answer to their need for quality left-hand irons.

The Wilson Pi5 clubs, on the other hand, should help intermediate golfers with their control problems. These left hand clubs also feature a progressive and variable center of gravity to ensure a high arc for the short game and long, straight trajectory for long irons. Wilson added a large sweet spot to this series of irons to assist with club and ball control, as well. The Pi5 clubs have a taller, narrow COR face, despite their normal head size.

The Di5 Wilson left hand clubs deliver the same precision engineering in the clubface and head that the Fi5 and Pi5 models offer. In addition these Wilson clubs feature a choice of steel or graphite shafts, which can provide flexibility for long irons but stiffer feels for short ones. The shaft technology in the Di5 is either True Temper steel or UST graphite. Shaft flexibility comes in L, R, S and E to meet any player’s ability and physical condition.

Wilson has made possible to find good quality left handed golf clubs in most golf pro shop across the country. Many course now rent left handed clubs to southpaws. Quality left handed golf clubs has made the game of golf accessible and more enjoyable to more people. Wilson sporting goods has provided quality equipment to fit any golfer. Since Wilson has marketed its quality left handed clubs other golf equipment manufactures have followed suit.

Golf Courses In Southwest Florida

Golf Courses In Southwest Florida
By Jim Kesel
Golf courses each have a character of there own. Here in Southwest Florida I have 8 different courses within 5 miles of my residence. I have played all of them at one time or another. During what we locals call season (winter months) many are members only but come the first of June you can play on all of them at greatly reduced prices.

If you live in Florida for more than a couple years you will find that the heat of summer really does not bother you, especially here near the coast where we enjoy an afternoon sea breeze off the Gulf of Mexico each day. If the heat does bother you we have a lighted course that your can play on until 10:00. However I suggest you bring a good set of eyes with you preferably young eyes to follow the flight of the ball, especially if your ball lands on the edge of the fairway.

Many of my friends are addicted golf fanatics that will play everyday come rain or shine. Afternoon thunderstorms are an everyday threat on all our courses. Golf courses that feature carts with a good wide and long roofs will do double duty by keeping the blazing hot sun off you and keep your gear dry during afternoon thunderstorms.

Golf courses with water hazards can be interesting during June when the gators are mating. Most golf courses have the number of the local alligator trapper on speed dial at this time of the year. It is advisable to never wade into a golf course pond to retrieve a ball. Alligators are very deceptive by appearing to be slow moving but can accelerate to capture prey at incredible speeds. We have had several attacks in our area over the past ten years so you need to give gators a wide birth. In the past we used to have a good supply of rattlesnakes but due to urbanization and increasing numbers of wild hogs they are now seldom seen.

Hogs on a golf course are a disaster waiting to happen. In just one night your favorite course can have thousands of dollars worth of damage. This is especially true if they do their rooting on greens. Golfers are very picky about the golf course they want to play on and especially critical of any changes to the greens. Hog control and removal is a high priority effort around most golf courses.

There are many quality golf courses located here in Southwest Florida. In fact you could easily play a different course for each day of the month and not have to travel more than 20 minutes from your home. There are to many to name and more are being built all the time. Southwest Florida has at least one golf course to suit you and your playing style.

Nutritional Supplements And More Energy For Golf

Nutritional Supplements And More Energy For Golf
By Miko Matics
Golf is not just an old people’s game anymore. It is a sport requiring a good amount of energy to perform at an optimal level, old and young players alike. Healthy food and good nutritional supplements should be considered by golfers just as that are for other more vigorous sports like succor, football, tennis and so forth.

How often do you hear golfers complaining about how tired they are during and after a round of golf? Even though a golf cart is used to play 18 holes they often loose energy and concentration during the round. Golf was meant to be played by walking. If you are one of those players who ride a golf cart and are still exhausted toward the end of the game, you need to find a way to energize yourself.

Let’s review how you can improve your energy.
Here are 5 tips for building up your golf energy and enhancing your performance;

1.Eat healthy food: Without good gas in your car, the car does not run. You need to eat nutritional food everyday to live energetically.

2.Take nutritional supplements: Living in the modern world with over processed and preservative added food, our diet lacks many important vitamins and minerals. Therefore, taking nutritional supplements is necessary for our health.

3.Stretch before and during your golf game: Stretching your whole body using Yoga techniques and other exercises helps you with transferring energy at the right time without wasting it in the wrong movement when you swing your club.

4.Eat snacks during your golf round: Take some fruit and a nutritional bar on the course and eat every 4 – 5 holes to keep up your energy and refresh your mind.

5.Drink plenty of water: To prevent dehydration it is important to drink water before you feel thirsty. You need to drink water consistently during your round of golf.

When you build up your golf energy by eating good food, adding nutritional supplements, staying hydrated and flexible, you become a stronger golfer and enjoy your golf even more.

Use The Force That Drives The Look In The Golf Swing And

Use The Force That Drives The Look In The Golf Swing And
By Rick Bradshaw
Several weeks ago, Beau Baugh, friend, tour player, college coach, and brother to famed LPGA Tour Pro Laura Baugh came up to me and said, "Rick, do you know that you teach the force that drives the look in the golf swing?"

My response was, "I like that description of my teaching style.”

Beau said you know there’s only a few of us that teach this way. I agreed.

Teaching the feel of the golf swing has taken years of lesson experience and trial and error. It is, however, a great way to get my students to achieve the look and technique of the best players in the world. In other words, I can get students to blend all the technically correct positions without being too mechanical. An analogy would be having a new car with no engine in it to make it run smooth.

Many golfers try to achieve positions by looking at segmented pictures of golf swings, but never really discover the true force that drives the look. Building a new car that looks good on the outside but has no engine will never run. There has to be an inner force to drive the look of the swing.

Another analogy would be drawing a picture by numbers. The drawing looks okay but take away the numbers and try drawing it again. There is no sensory blend of mental and physical to create the picture. The force in the golf swing is rotary. Your body has to turn against the friction of your feet to generate enough centripetal force (inner force) to swing the club head with enough velocity (centrifugal) to hit powerful golf shots. F= mv2/r is the formula for centripetal force.

The tighter the inner circle or force, the faster the outer velocity. Visualize a skater performing a pirouette. The tighter the movement the faster they spin. When you perform this golf swing, your center force must oppose the outer force of the club head swinging. As a result, all the fundamentally correct positions will be achieved automatically without trying to force the positions.

In other words the inner rotational force will act upon your body causing all parts to react and be pulled taut. The club head will swing into the ball if you allow it. Any steering or guiding the club head at the ball will interfere with the forces and errant shots will result. These principles are what allow me to drive the ball over 300 yards with only one hand on the golf club.

I can tell you this, it starts in your feet and moves up through your legs and into your torso. Then it moves up through your shoulders, out through the arms and hands and finally to the club head. It is the true source of effortless power, consistency and control. It is lasting and a move you will never forget. It ensures every golfer, regardless of age, gender or bio physical stature to swing the club with effortless ease, yet tremendous velocity. It is the force that creates gyroscopic stability. It is the force that makes a yo-yo, yo and it is the force that will make all of you better golfers.

Golf Training And Fitness

Golf Training And Fitness
Golf is one of the most popular games in the world, and its popularity is still growing. As the game grows, so are the training centers, web sites, advice forums, blogs, etc; each one of them trying to contribute a little more value to the game of the golf enthusiast. There is a wealth of information out there, some good, and some not so good, and some that is utterly useless. How will know what you can use, and what you should ignore? Every beginner starts somewhere; and when they start they have a teacher, a mentor, a guide. You should ensure that the person who is mentoring you will be able to guide you as to where and how to get the best out of any golf training fitness program. Similarly, whatever you learn initially, should be checked out at length by your guide so he/she can tell you whether you are on the right path or not. Any tip that you find, from whatever source, should be checked out with you guide before implementation.

Even before you start training for the game, research well. Read extensively about the game, the rules, the tactics, and the necessary golf training fitness program. Learn about the achievements of the best golf players in the world, and the pitfalls of the game. Be well informed. Information of the background of the game will stand you in good stead when you train for the game – as this would act as an extension to the theoretical knowledge you have acquired. Some of the best lessons that I have come across regarding golf training fitness programs are actually more common sense than golf specific. Of course, there are many golf specific tips that are extremely useful, but without the following few truths at the back of your mind, everything is actually a waste of time:

1. Regular fitness workout and golf-specific workouts are different. While the former concentrates on building muscles and general body stamina, the latter would concentrate on the golf-muscles and movement without which no golf game can ever improve.

2. Be regular with your workouts. Even if you perform your golf training fitness program once a month, it is fine, as long as you exercise on the same day of every month. Ideally it should be every week – but you can work out a routine than can be maximized at the golf training centre, and minimized (but continued) in the office/ home as well.

3. Be steady with the workouts. Give your body time to warm up and increase the stamina gradually. Do not push yourself too hard, or you will harm yourself more than help yourself (and the game).

Some Great Golf Courses To Play

Some Great Golf Courses To Play
When you look around at some of the golf courses in Golf Digest or online, you will see that the courses are well groomed and offer different levels of golf. Arnold Palmer is a well known professional golfer who has many golf courses around the country. One of his famous golf courses is the Bay Hill Club and Lodge down in Orlando, Florida. This course is remarkable. This eighteen hole golf course was designed by Dick Wilson with hills and no surprise holes. It is a straightforward golf course that many find very inspirational to the world of golf.

Trent Jones is another designer of a spectacular golf course in Huntsville, Alabama. The Hampton Cove is very different then his Highlands Golf course, but the imagination is still seen. The River course is a delight to play and it has no bunkers to be seen. The golf course is a golfer’s delight and many professionals come to this course for leisure golf if there is such a thing with them. The Hampton Cove has three different courses to play. There course are well groomed and many golfer’s plan their vacations at this golf course.

Whistling Straits in Haven, Wisconsin has been the home to the PGA games. This course was designed on the lakefront and the terrain is somewhat hilly and sandy, but the course is a challenge to play. On a windy day, the winds coming off the lake can be tedious for golfers, but that makes the challenge even greater. Herbert Kohler owns the golf course that was designed especially to attract the PGA tournaments. When the golf course opened, it was necessary to play the course for area golfers and visitors to the area. Everyone wanted to experience the challenge that the course brings. This is a walk only golf course.

Trent Jones designed yet another golf course in the Virgin Islands that has a tropical appeal. St. Croix is where you will find the Carambola Golf and Country Club. This is a signature golf course and has yet more imagination than some of his other creations. Golfer’s find this course demanding in the way of fun and excitement. The golf course does offer a spectacular view as well as a beautifully groomed course. Robert Trent Jones is a master of design when it comes to unbelievable golf courses.

These are just a few favorites when it comes to golf. Every state and county has a golf course that is great to play. For the most part, all the courses are well groomed and offer eighteen holes of golf. You can enjoy a day of golf and then relax in the clubhouse with a few drinks and some stories about why you missed that shot. There is nothing better than spending a day golfing when you take a trip. Many people find this a reason to visit certain areas. The golfing is great and the drinks are wonderful. However, you can be the judge of that when you visit some of the best courses around.

Great Golf Vacations: Living In Spain Is Not Required

Great Golf Vacations: Living In Spain Is Not Required
By Clinton Maxwell..
For the golf enthusiast who lives where the weather conditions do not permit playing all year round, a golf vacation is the great way to get some playing time in during the off seasons.

The United States offers some terrific golfing vacation areas. Some of the most popular include Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Miami, Orlando and Tampa/St. Petersburg. Additionally, other great locations are Jacksonville, the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, San Diego and Asheville.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in one of the East Coast’s top golf destinations, featuring more than one hundred courses and many miles of beautiful beaches and coastlines. This area also offers a vibrant nightlife to include dance clubs, Broadway shows, country music entertainment and many local pubs and bars. Myrtle Beach generally enjoys more 200 sunny days per year and a mild climate allowing golfers to enjoy the game nearly any time of the year.

There are several premier golf resorts in Phoenix, Arizona. In fact, this area has more than 100 courses available and surrounded by beautiful dessert views to help the golfer appreciate the area’s Native heritage. When you are not golfing, you can visit ancient native villages and spend some time taking in the many cultural exhibits and Native American art. Another good choice in the Phoenix area is a bed and breakfast which are a popular option because you can get a true taste of the culture.

Las Vegas, the gambling capital of the United States, is also a great destination for golfing where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the famous Las Vegas Skyline. Many courses offer beautiful desert landscapes as well as some sand traps to add that extra challenge for the golfers. Obviously, when you are not on the course, the area has plenty of entertainment available.

Hilton Head in South Carolina may be only twelve miles long, but it this small island has nearly double that in golf courses-twenty two to exact. In addition to the magnificent golf courses, you are only a shot distance from some popular tourist attractions such as the Palmetto Dunes Plantation and Pinckney Island National Wildlife Preserve.

Baja, California hosts a wonderful array of luxury resorts for golf enthusiasts. Its southern tip offers many wonderful golfing locations and other attractions, such as Sea World, San Diego, beaches and the charming yet rowdy town of Los Cabos.

Perhaps you have the desire to try out some golf courses in other countries. Well, those living in Spain will attest to the beautiful surroundings in many of the regions, as well as some of the great golf courses travelers can find for a terrific golf vacation. Among the many great destinations, one choice is to find a La Manga property for accommodations and explore the area and all it has to offer both the golfer and the non-golfer.

Regardless of whether you want a golf vacation in the United States or abroad, searching online will certainly help you find the best golf vacation to satisfy your vacation needs both on and off the golf course.

Tips To Help You Find The Perfect Golf Grip

Tips To Help You Find The Perfect Golf Grip
By Leroy Calstard
Saying something is often far easier than actually doing it or making it happen. For golfers, it is easy to suggest that a good grip will result in a poorly played game. It is also easy to state that a good grip is essential to a quality golf swing. But, what exactly is a “good grip?” If you do not already have one, how can you get a good grip? These are only some of the questions a new golfer, in particular, may have.

Well, the latest a golf gadget that helped you put and end to your awful slice will not do it, nor will you find a perfect golf grip at your local golf store. In fact, if you were to ask a variety of golfers what the perfect grip was, they would very likely demonstrate an equal number of “perfect grips.”

This is because a good golf grip is really comes to several factors. The game of golf is not a science and cannot be played according to a pre-determined formula. Fortunately, though, there are some things you can do to improve your trip. Here are some tips recommended by professionals.

Be sure the grip on your golf club is right for you. If you are not playing with your personal club s, you may find that you play a fairly poorer game. A new set of clubs may be a great gift, but to the golfer, they may not be so great once out on the course since the clubs need to fit the golfer. One pair of gloves do not fit all golfers, and the same theory applies for golf grips. Since golf grips are made for the individual golfer, spend a little time finding a fit that is best for you.

Comfort is also important. Regardless of the golf grip you prefer, you must be comfortable with that grip. If you are continually thinking

of “how” to grip, then you cannot focus on anything else, like the game. Most golfers do spend time practicing his or her grip, but this should not be the most time-consuming part of playing the game.

Do not hesitate to change your grip if it is simply not working. If you are not happy with it, then try something else. If the grip on your golf clubs is too large, or the grip is uncomfortable, fix the problem. Take a closer look at your methods and equipment you are using and make any necessary adjustments. The only caveat would be if you are working with a professional coach who will not permit any such adjustments. Otherwise, you will appreciate the changes you make as comfort in your golf grip is important.

Finally, if someone is suggesting another method that may work better, go ahead and try it. Any change in your golf grip will likely result in some minor discomfort, but with some practice, the grip change will gradually feel more natural. You can always go back to your former grip if it is not working. Remember, if your golf grip is not right for you, it will show through in your overall game once on the course.

Focusing on the area of golf grip, Leroy Calstard publishes normally for www.alicante-spain.com . His comments on benidorm golf are found on www.alicante-spain.com/costa_blanca_golf_courses.html .
